A short and easy walk takes you to The Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World, Summerfest, the Third Ward & Milwaukee Public Market. Bring a bike and cruise the lakeshore to Bradford Beach, Lakefront State Park, or add miles on the Oak Leaf Trail, which connects 125 miles of recreational trails throughout the city.

Our educational programs, events, and resources are designed to help students and the public understand the significance of military service, the history behind the War Memorial Center, and learn about the courage and sacrifice of Wisconsin service members and their families.
Race Starts at 9:00 AM
Start your winter running season off on the right foot and honor our veterans and current service members at the Vets Day 5k & 10k at the War Memorial on Saturday, November 8, 2025. This is the only race that starts and finishes on Mason street right in front of the War Memorial. Join your fellow runners after the race for awards and a gourmet hot chocolate bar!
