Wisconsin POW/MIA 3 – 12

This lesson will help introduce students, teachers, and the community to the history, background, and meaning behind the letters POW/MIA. This lesson will introduce names like Carl Zeidler, Joe Demler, Marcia Gates, Gary Ray Ducharme, Bill Henderson, and more to share their stories and the effects it had on them, their families, and the community. Students will learn about events like the Battle of Bataan, the signing of the Paris Peace Accords, Andersonville, and places like Germany, the Philippines, Camp McCoy, and Buna-Gona.
