War, Love & Loss: A Woman’s Perspective

War, Love & Loss: A Woman’s Perspective

This lesson explores how women coped with the uncertainty and pain endured while waiting for the return of a loved one from the battlefields of World War II. When Captain Matthew Rosenblum was declared missing in action during the Bataan Death March, the women in his life – his mother, his wife and his sister – each struggled to come to terms with the news. Learn their stories through primary sources including family photos, letters and military documents.
