Janine Sijan, sister of Medal of Honor Recipient Capt. Lance P. Sijan, takes us through the places of significance Capt. Sijan's life in Milwaukee and Bay View. The coach bus departs the War Memorial Center at 9:30am and goes through Sijan's neighborhood and passes his high school. We then stop at Mitchel International Airport to see the Gallery of Flight Museum and the Sijan Conference Center. Next stop: Sijan Plaza on Howell Avenue to see the F4-Phantom that Sijan likely flew in Vietnam. Then we visit Sijan's grave at Arlington Memorial Park. The tour finishes at the War Memorial Center for a flower-laying ceremony at Sijan's name on the Honor Roll. Throughout the day, Sijan's sister Janine gives powerful insight into his life growing up in Milwaukee and the decisions and events that led to his harrowing ordeal in the jungles of Vietnam – and his truly heroic efforts to return home to the family and country he loved.
