These names were transcribed from the plaque donated to the War Memorial Center by the Alonzo Cudworth Post No. 23, Milwaukee. The plaque hangs in the southwest corner of Veterans Courtyard, next to the Honor Roll.
There are 770 names on the plaque including four nurses, listed at the bottom. One, Florence Kimball, died of influenza while serving in France; the fate of the others is unknown. One hundred and forty-three died of pneumonia and three of influenza. Of the rest we know that 78 died of wounds and 278 were killed in action.
