FIELD OF FLAGS
CEREMONY SPEAKER
JENNY EBERT shares the story of her
uncle who, at the age of 19, enlisted
with the Marines. Tragically, he was
killed during an ambush just months
after his deployment to Vietnam in
February 1968. In the fall of 2023, his
military transfer case was discovered in
the basement of a thrift store. It is now
on display at the Oconomowoc Area
Historical Society & Museum.
AS WE STAND HERE TODAY, AMONG THESE
FLAGS, LET’S COMMIT TO REMEMBER THE
COURAGE, SACRIFICE, AND SERVICE OF
THOSE WHO GAVE EVERYTHING. LET’S
HONOR THEM BY LIVING LIVES WORTHY
OF THEIR SACRIFICE.
