The WMC expresses its thanks to newspaper publisher Andrew Johnson, UWM journalism lecturer Jessica McBride, and former UWM journalism student Dylan Deprey for their informative presentation on Feb 1, 2018 on the Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name project. The project, which shows the photos of each of the 1,161 Wisconsin soldier who didn’t return home from the Vietnam War.

The event also featured remarks by Gold Star Family Andrew and Laura Johnson, who became involved in the project after their son David was killed in 2012 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan while serving in the U.S. Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Johnsons told the group they are working to “make sure his life counted,” and wanted to give back to Vietnam veterans because they were so good to their family after their son died.

You can watch the full presentation on the project in the video above.
