Lake Bluff Elementary School Visits WMC
We had a great time with students from Shorewood’s Lake Bluff Elementary School earlier this month!
The visit was part of a two-month classroom project in which students met with veterans and focused on the question:
“How do we honor those who have helped us?”
The project will culminate with a Veterans Day fundraiser for the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, which honors Wisconsin veterans by flying WWII, Korean War and terminally ill veterans from other conflicts to Washington, DC to visit their memorials.
Here at the WMC, the students talked with Mark Fox and Joe Campbell who are responsible for driving to New York to recover the piece of steel for our 9/11 Memorial. Jerry Witt from War Dogs also came to talk about his experience as a Scout Dog Handler in Vietnam.
