On Feb. 1, 2018, more than 35 community members (many of them Vietnam veterans, including Medal of Honor recipient Gary Wetzel) turned out to learn about the challenges of finding the final 400 photos for each of the 1,162 Wisconsinites listed on the national Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The WMC has been recognized as one of the most beautiful and most impressive buildings in the entire Milwaukee area, and for good reason.

In 2018, we would like to start building our own military trunk collections and curricula. Please consider donating uniforms, military artifacts, government-issued items and personal effects (photos, letters, maps, foreign currency, etc.) from all U.S. military service.
On Dec. 15, the War Memorial Center honored 35 veterans and community members who volunteered for WMC education programs throughout 2017, helping us create memorable experiences for schools, scout groups, senior centers and community members.
The War Memorial Center will host the exhibit Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name Jan. 8 through Feb. 2. The exhibit will be located on the 2nd floor of the War Memorial Center in Veterans Gallery and will be free and open to the public during normal business hours and on the weekends.
